
ELIZABETH SARIAN
MEET ELIZABETH.
Elizabeth Sarian has been praised for her "pointed, wonderfully appealing lyric mezzo-soprano" (Opera Today). She has been particularly celebrated for her portrayals of Mozart’s Cherubino as "one of the highlights of the performance" (Opera Gene) and whose "joyful incarnation of Cherubino shone with a youthful voice and captivating interpretation" (Opera News). This season, Elizabeth joins The Metropolitan Opera for the workshop of The Wedding Banquet, Annapolis Opera as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, her alma mater, Hofstra University, in recital, and the South Shore Symphony for Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. She was recently heard with Maryland Opera in concert and with Opera Baltimore as Nancy in Britten's Albert Herring. Elizabeth has been a featured artist with opera companies across the United States including The Atlanta Opera, Knoxville Opera, Opera Roanoke, Central City Opera, The Santa Fe Opera, and Opera Theater of Saint Louis. Elizabeth was a 2022 National Semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and is a native of Long Island, New York.
